I figured as much

Thank you for taking the Creativity Test. The results show your brain dominance as being:

Left Brain Right Brain
45% 55%

You are more right-brained than left-brained. The right side of your brain controls the left side of your body. In addition to being known as right-brained, you are also known as a creative thinker who uses feeling and intuition to gather information. You retain this information through the use of images and patterns. You are able to visualize the “whole” picture first, and then work backwards to put the pieces together to create the “whole” picture. Your thought process can appear quite illogical and meandering. The problem-solving techniques that you use involve free association, which is often very innovative and creative. The routes taken to arrive at your conclusions are completely opposite to what a left-brained person would be accustomed. You probably find it easy to express yourself using art, dance, or music. Some occupations usually held by a right-brained person are forest ranger, athlete, beautician, actor/actress, craftsman, and artist.

Your complete evaluation follows below:

Your left brain/right brain percentage was calculated by combining the individual scores of each half’s sub-categories. They are as follows:

Your Left Brain Percentages

47% Reality-based (Your most dominant characteristic)
35% Sequential
30% Logical
25% Symbolic
11% Linear
7% Verbal (Your least dominant characteristic)

Your Right Brain Percentages

40% Fantasy-oriented (Your most dominant characteristic)
34% Intuitive
32% Nonverbal
30% Holistic
28% Concrete
17% Random (Your least dominant characteristic)

Take the test yourself!

Randomness

Posted by zarffyn on July 21, 2008

Randomnesses:

-I saw FIVE movies last week.  That’s a definite personal record.  The following list is all five movies, in order of best to not best (none of them were bad movies, just some better than others): The Dark Knight, Get Smart, Hellboy 2, Wanted, Hancock

I’m going to quote Holly Lisle’s blog on The Dark Knight, because I agree 100%:

It’s brilliant. Heart, soul, meaning, characters, thought, emotion, philosophy. No one is dumbed down, no one is softened, and none of the rough edges have been sanded off to make it palatable or inoffensive to those easily offended. We are who we choose to be, The Dark Knight says, and we must claim both our victories and our failures. Viktor Frankl showed us that circumstances do not excuses make, that in the end we decide not what happens to us but who we are when it’s done. The Dark Knight has more special effects, but presents the same truth.

And it left me with a line seared into my mind. “Sometimes, people deserve to have their faith rewarded.”

Sometimes they do. So go. See it.

-Matt and I are booked for Gencon Indy (Gamer Mecca).  We booked the hotel last night, after much searching.  We wanted a lot in a hotel, including a pool, fitness center, breakfast, in-room microwave and mini-fridge, and pets allowed.  Thomas is going with us, though he’ll obviously be staying in the hotel.  I didn’t like the idea of leaving him at home for four days-you know me, I’ll worry my socks off.  So, he goes.

-Holly Lisle’s writing course registration goes live tomorrow at noon.  Guess where I’ll be at 11:59?  Right here, haunting the registration site until it’s up.  She’s not announcing the price until tomorrow, so I’m REALLY hoping I can afford it.  I think this may be the kick in the pants my writing needs.

-I’m reading a LOT of books.  Check my Reading List page for the update on my 2008 books.  I’m currently re-reading Broken by Kelley Armstrong, and after that I’ll be diving back into some new books.

-I need a new job. *sigh* Anyone know of an administrative position open somewhere in Columbus?
